Having trouble signing in? Here are solutions for common authentication issues.
Magic link not arriving
Causes and fixes:
- Check your spam/junk folder — magic links sometimes get filtered
- Wait 2-3 minutes — email delivery can be delayed
- Make sure you entered the correct email address
- Try requesting a new magic link (the old one expires after 1 hour)
- Check if your email provider blocks automated emails
Google sign-in not working
Fixes:
- Clear your browser cookies for gigbooks.ca
- Try using an incognito/private window
- Make sure you're selecting the correct Google account
- Disable browser extensions that may block OAuth popups
"Session expired"
Cause: Your authentication token has expired (typically after 1 hour of inactivity).
Fix: Simply sign in again. Your data is preserved — nothing is lost when sessions expire.
Can't access account after deletion
If you deleted your account more than 30 days ago, your data has been permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
If it's been less than 30 days, simply sign in with the same method (Google or email) to reactivate your account.
Signed in but seeing "Free" features
Cause: Your session may not have fully loaded your subscription status.
Fix: Refresh the page. If the issue persists, sign out and sign back in.
