Refund Policy

Our General Approach

We want you to feel confident using GigBooks. This policy explains when and how refunds work.

GigBooks offers a free tier so you can try the product before paying. We recommend using it first to confirm GigBooks works for your needs. The refund rules below are simple and apply consistently.

Pro Plan ($18/month or annual)

7-day money-back guarantee. If you're unhappy with Pro within the first 7 days of your initial subscription, email support@gigbooks.ca for a full refund.

The 7-day money-back guarantee applies to your first Pro subscription only. It does not apply to renewals, reactivations, or plan changes. Each customer is eligible for one refund.

After the 7-day window, monthly subscriptions are non-refundable for the current billing period. You can cancel anytime from your account settings, and your access continues until the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged again.

For annual subscriptions, the same 7-day window applies. After 7 days, annual subscriptions are non-refundable, but you may cancel renewal at any time to prevent future charges.

Tax Season Pass ($49 one-time)

All sales are final. The Tax Season Pass is non-refundable.

Because the Tax Season Pass is a low-cost, focused product designed for a specific use case, we keep it simple by offering no refunds. We encourage all users to try the free tier first to confirm GigBooks fits their needs before purchasing.

This policy is stated clearly at checkout so there are no surprises.

Free Accounts

Free accounts have no payment, so there is nothing to refund. You can delete your account anytime from your settings.

What's Not Refundable

The following are never refundable:

  • Tax Season Pass purchases
  • Pro subscriptions outside the 7-day window
  • Accounts terminated for violations of our Terms of Service
  • Charges already in active dispute or chargeback proceedings
  • Subscriptions that have been previously refunded and re-purchased
  • Accounts with data already exported during the billing period (at our discretion)

How Refunds Are Processed

Refunds are issued to the original payment method only. Stripe typically processes refunds within 5 to 10 business days. You will receive an email confirmation when your refund is processed. All refunds are issued in Canadian dollars (CAD).

How to Request a Refund

Email support@gigbooks.ca with:

  1. The email address associated with your GigBooks account
  2. The date of the charge
  3. A brief reason for the refund request (optional but helpful)

We aim to respond within one business day.

Cancellation vs. Refund

These are different things:

Cancellation stops future charges. You keep access until the end of your current billing period. You can cancel yourself anytime from your account settings.

Refund returns money already paid. This is what this policy covers.

You can cancel without requesting a refund, and you can request a refund within the eligible window without losing your remaining access until processed.

Chargebacks

If you have a billing concern, please contact us first at support@gigbooks.ca before filing a chargeback with your bank or card provider. We are responsive and want to resolve issues directly.

Filing a chargeback without first contacting us will result in immediate account termination and a permanent ban from future accounts. We maintain records of all chargebacks for fraud prevention.

Abuse Prevention

We reserve the right to deny refund requests from accounts that show a pattern of repeated purchases and refund requests, or accounts created solely to exploit the refund policy. We also reserve the right to limit or terminate accounts that engage in refund abuse.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this refund policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Refund requests are evaluated based on the policy in effect at the time of your purchase.
