Deleting Your Account & Data
You can delete your GigBooks account at any time. Here's how it works.
How to delete
- Go to User Settings → Overview tab
- Scroll to the "Delete Account" section
- Click "Delete" and type "DELETE" to confirm
What happens
Immediately
- Your Stripe subscription is cancelled (if active)
- Your account is marked for deletion
- You're signed out
Within 30 days
- All data is permanently destroyed:
- Account profile and preferences
- All fiscal years and transaction data
- Merchant mappings and settings
- Upload history
- Encrypted data blobs
30-day grace period
If you change your mind, simply sign back in within 30 days. Your account will be reactivated with all data intact.
Browser data
Data stored in your browser (localStorage) is not affected by account deletion. To clear it, use your browser's "Clear site data" function for gigbooks.ca.
PIPEDA compliance
GigBooks complies with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You have the right to:
- Access your personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Withdraw consent for data processing
- Request deletion of your data
